Bonjour, mes amis! I’m back with another adventure-packed episode of my European escapade. This time, we’re braving the transport strikes (and the cold!) to conquer the City of Lights—Paris! So, buckle up because this city threw us more curveballs than a French mime in a wind tunnel.

Let’s discover why so many have fallen in love with Paris as we uncover some secrets and immerse ourselves in its timeless beauty.

Our grand entrance into Paris was, shall we say, less than glamorous. Thanks to the transport protests, we rolled into Gare du Nord station looking more like a pack of weary pigeons than chic Parisians. But hey, at least we made it! After a quick power nap at our conveniently located hotel (seriously, it was like 5 minutes away—score!), we were ready to hit the streets and stuff our faces with all the croissants and pain au chocolat we could find.

The first stop is the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Jepoi, you poor thing, it’s still under construction after that unfortunate fire!” And you’re right, it is. But let me tell you, even with a bit of scaffolding, this grand dame still knows how to work it. We gazed up in awe, imagining Quasimodo swinging from the bell towers (and maybe dodging a few falling gargoyles).

Next up, the Arc de Triomphe! This majestic monument stands tall and proud, like a giant victory fist bump in the middle of the city. Our +0800GMT body clocks were behind the miss of reaching the top, but it’s okay. From the side street, we were already rewarded with a breathtaking view and bustling Parisian streets (Bonus, the sound of sirens all over the place). I even tried to spot Emily Cooper, but no luck.

And then, the moment we’d all been waiting for: the Eiffel Tower! This iconic structure is even more mesmerizing in person, especially when lit like a Christmas tree. We snapped so many photos that our phones practically begged for mercy. But hey, can you blame us? This is the Eiffel Tower, people!

Day two started with a bang at the Louvre Museum. Remember that “Da Vinci Code” scene where Tom Hanks runs through the Louvre? Yeah, I channeled my inner Robert Langdon and sprinted through the halls (just kidding… security wouldn’t have liked that). But seriously, this place is massive! We spent hours wandering through the endless galleries, marveling at masterpieces like the Mona Lisa (she’s smaller than you think!) and the Venus de Milo (she’s missing her arms, but still rocking it).

After our art overload, we headed to the Trocadero Gardens for some fresh air and, you guessed it, more Eiffel Tower views! This place is like a postcard come to life, with perfectly manicured lawns and fountains. We even saw a couple having a romantic picnic – how cliché, but also how adorable!

No trip to Paris is complete without a Seine River cruise. As the sun began to set, we hopped on a boat and drifted along the river, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. It was so romantic that I almost expected to see Emily Cooper herself sipping champagne on the deck.

And just like that, our Parisian adventure ended. We bid farewell to the City of Lights, our hearts full of joy (and our stomachs full of delicious French food). Our next stop: Munich! Get ready for beer, pretzels, and lederhosen!
